I am a PhD student at the Centre for Quantum Computation, based at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge. I am also the webmaster who manages the hardware which hosts this site.
My main research interests revolve around questions of minimising the control of quantum computations under physically sensbile assumptions i.e. when an experimentalist builds a device that can perform some limited set of operations, is that set of operations still sufficient for performing quantum computation, and how would you do it? The particular types of systems that I have examined are Global Control Schemes, including Error Correction and Fault Tolerance, and their application to Optical Lattices and also State Transfer in Spin Chains and Networks.
