Wikipedia has a nice looking opening on the main page. Perhaps we should aim for a similar style?

What else can we put on the Main Page? Jarekadam 21:09, 13 Sep 2005 (BST)

It is a bit cluttered now, having it simpler and boxed, as in Wikipedia, would be better (personal view - nedless to say). Is it possible to have only few opening lines of the featured article?

Yes, it is possible - featured article is not prepared automaticaly. Plase log in and use 4 tildas mechanism! Jarekadam 11:15, 21 Sep 2005 (BST)

We need new Featured Article. Are there any ideas? --Jarekadam 22:18, 16 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Comments about the News Items on the front page?

Can be have a facility to leave comments and discussion about the various news items that appear on the front page? I have great reservations about some of the popular science writing and the stories to which we're referring people to from the front page and maybe some commentary might mitigate some of the misconceptions or typical badly expounded journalistic spin that often passes for a report on the latest scientific result. The latest story (NY Times on a 6 qubit cat-state) is one such example where they've totally rewritten scientific history on the development of quantum theory. It should not pass without comment I think, especially if we're lending some sort of implied credence by linking to it.

Sure, no problem. We can create an article Comments on recent news and add a link to it below the news list on the Main Page. --Jarekadam 19:24, 28 December 2005 (GMT)

I agree that this is a good idea. Such page could also be part of a more general discussion forum category (as one of the resources for quantum information), where also other issues ("who can help me with this and that problem") could be posted and discussed. Of course this only works if he have some more people visiting. Burgarth 20:15, 28 December 2005 (GMT)

Wrong link to news item

The newest news item (Nov 2) links to page 3 of the article - substitute the last 3 for a 1... (and remove this paragraph) --Myhr 23:41, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. Btw, you can also edit the news section yourself if you want to on Template:QuantumNews Burgarth 11:45, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
