QIPC 2013 will cover:

Quantum information and quantum communication.

Physical realizations of quantum systems for information technology such as photons, single atoms, ions, molecules, nuclear and electron spins, superconducting circuits, micro- and nano-mechanics, hybrid quantum systems, degenerate quantum gases.

Topical subjects such as foundations of quantum information, quantum measurements, quantum interferometry, cavity QED, optical lattices, quantum memories, many-body systems.

A post-doc position is available at University of Grenoble.
The position is funded by the ANR research grant Causality in Quantum Information, see http://membres-lig.imag.fr/arrighi/CausaQ/.

Topics that are of particular interest to us include (but do not limit yourself to these):
- Non-locality
- Quantum Cellular Automata
- Quantum Walks for quantum simulation
- Measurement-based quantum computation
- Secret-sharing protocols
- Regge calculus and connections with quantum gravity

Following on from the success of the previous two events, the aim of this colloquium is to showcase recent research in quantum algorithms. We have five excellent speakers:

Andrew Childs
Maarten van den Nest
Ben Reichardt
Jérémie Roland
Pawel Wocjan

There is no conference fee and we are able to offer travel support to UK PhD students who do not have funding from their home institutions.

Please see

and scroll down to "Project C". The masters will investigate strategies in quantum
evolutionary game theory. Please email michael.mcgettrick@nuigalway.ie for further information.

Adiabatic Quantum Computing (AQC) promises to be robust to many noise sources that cause ordinary quantum circuits to fail, including environmental decoherence and imperfect control. While any quantum algorithm can be run on a universal adiabatic quantum computer in principle, combinatorial optimisation problems appear to be the most natural for near-term devices. Understanding the landscape of AQC architectures and algorithms, and methods for realising them, continues to be an active and vibrant research area.

The ONNA 2013 workshop will be held at OIST Graduate University (http://www.oist.jp) from 1-7th June 2013. The aim of the workshop is to bring together experts and early stage researchers, from diverse communities, who use optical micro and nanofibers or waveguides for their research needs, whether it be for quantum, biological or other applications. The number of participants is limited and will be based on application. Full financial support (air ticket, accommodation at Seaside House, OIST and meals) available.

ICFO – Institute of Photonic Sciences and LENS – European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy, are seeking applicants for a prestigious PhD position funded by the Erasmus Mundus programme.
