Fellowship

We are happy to announce the opening of the call for applications to the new edition of the Doctoral Programme in the Physics and Mathematics of Information: Foundations of Future Information Technologies (DP-PMI), starting in September 2017.

The DP-PMI aims at providing advanced curricular and research training in the recent developments and fundamental challenges in information sciences and technologies, namely in:

The Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, at Instituto de Telecomunicacoes (in Lisbon, Portugal), is seeking to hire two Post-doctoral Research Fellows.

The candidates are expected to have research experience in quantum information theory and/or quantum matter.

Application timing

Applications should be submitted by 27 January 2017, but earlier applications are welcome and will be processed immediately.

Competitive PhD position at the ICMol (University of Valencia) within the Program INPhINIT from “La Caixa” foundation

This is a fellowship scheme funded by Aberystwyth University, the Welsh Government and the European Union. It is aimed at researchers with 3-5 years post-PhD experience and comes with a 3 year appointment. To be eligible, you have to have spent no more than 12 months in the UK over the last three years (0 months is fine!), and applications can be from anywhere in the world. At the moment, I am collecting expressions of interest only; there is a two-stage proposal involved in this but chances are quite good (last year's applicant was successful) .

It from Qubit, the Simons Collaboration on Quantum Fields, Gravity, and Information, anticipates appointing up to 5 postdoctoral fellows across the following locations:

Dorit Aharonov (Jerusalem)
Patrick Hayden and Leonard Susskind (Stanford)
Juan Maldacena (IAS)
Alex Maloney (McGill)
Rob Myers (Perimeter)
