PhD

A PhD studentship in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics/Semiconductor Optics is available in the School of Physics at Trinity College Dublin, in the area of many-body phenomena in coupled light-matter systems (such as quantum dots and semiconductor microcavities). The project will explore many-particle effects in decoherence, using radiatively coupled quantum dots as a model system.

ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences is a centre based in Castelldefels (Barcelona), devoted to the research and education of the optical and photonic sciences, at the highest international level. The ‘Quantum information with cold atoms and non-classical light’ research group, led by Prof. Morgan Mitchell, at ICFO is looking for Ph.D. students to work in the areas of experimental quantum optics, atomic physics, and quantum light-matter interfaces.

We are offering a PhD position in Quantum Optics and Quantum Many-Body Dynamics within the newly established Emmy Noether research group led by Dr. Michael Hartmann at the Physics Department of the Technical University Munich.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has ideally already gained some research experience in theoretical quantum optics, quantum information theory and/or condensed matter theory.
