QTech project #2

We're excited to announce the 2nd QProject! During this series, we will be listening to research projects by grad students and our new guest will be Shubham Kumar, from Shanghai University! With the title of "Entanglement in Quantum Memristors", his talk will conclude with a study of entangled quantum memristors based on superconducting circuits.

QTech: Projects #1 organized by QTurkey

QTurkey is excited to announce the launch of our new event, QTech: Projects! During this series, we will be listening to several research projects by graduate students working in the field of quantum technology.

Our first guest will be Lea Gassab from QuEst Group at Koç University! In this talk, she will present one of the current projects of their research group, where they study squeezed and entangled light. Her talk will conclude with plausible applications such as quantum pupillometry and biometrics in emerging technology.

QJam2021

QWorld welcomes you to participate in our global quantum jam “QJam2021” held online from Friday, Nov 26 to Sunday, Dec 5. QJam2021 is open to students, quantum enthusiasts, researchers, educators, teachers, artists, writers, designers, animators, software developers, game developers, programmers, and others. To inspire the participants, we will host several QJam Talks from November 22 to 25, and we will make a GitLab repo ready with several project ideas.

More details: https://qworld.net/qjam2021/

We offer a fully online gradate-level course (6 ECTS credits) on “Quantum Computing and Programming” as a part of the collaboration among QWorld, University of Latvia, and Rigetti under the QTOM (Quantum Technologies Open Master) Pilot by QTEdu. The course will start on Sep 13, 2021. We will have lectures and labs (with extra activities such as invited talks, Kahoot games, etc) until at the end of November. Each student will complete 10 quizzes or homework. Then, the project phase will start with a hackathon, and the students will have a month to complete their term projects (mid-January). The final grade will be out of 100, and each student will be able to receive an official document with her final grade provided by the doctoral study program of Faculty of Computing at University of Latvia.

QIntern, the summer internship program of the QWorld

QResearch Department of QWorld is looking for mentors willing to conduct projects under the QIntern 2021 program. The scope of the project may cover any quantum-related topic, which includes research, preparing educational materials, developing software, etc. If you’re interested in leading a team, please fill the application form available https://forms.gle/dyJWLBku46adwiVV7.

We are happy to announce the first QWorld Quantum Science Days, a scientific meeting organized by QWorld to provide opportunities to the quantum community to present and discuss their research results at all levels - from short projects to thesis work to research publications - and to get to know each other.

Global Quantum Programming Workshop | QSilver | May 17-22, 2021You have some introductory knowledge on the basics of quantum computing and programming and want to learn more? Take part in the Global Quantum Programming Workshop | QSilver and expand your knowledge. During this 1-week workshop, we will take the path through complex numbers to Shor’s Algorithm!

Global Quantum Programming Workshop | QSilver is a one-week online workshop on quantum computing and quantum programming based on the intermediate material Silver prepared by QWorld. The scope of the QSilver workshop covers complex numbers and Bloch sphere, Quantum Fourier Transform and Shor’s Algorithm.

We invite you to the next QWebminar. This time we will have a talk by Cem Say about what factorization is, its seeming hardness for classical computers, the magic of quantum, and a description of Shor’s approach.

QWebinar: Factorization in the Quantum World

Date: Wed, April 28, 2021, 15:00 (GMT/UTC),
Moderators: Özlem Salehi (QWorld & QTurkey) and Abuzer Yakaryılmaz (QWorld)
Organizers: Agnieszka Wolska (QWorld) and Abuzer Yakaryılmaz (QWorld)

From Cem:
“The most famous quantum algorithm is 27 years old already. I wish I could give an overview of Shor’s factorizaton algorithm that is simultaneously easy to understand and able to convey the huge intellectual achievement of this amazing construction. This cannot be done in an hour, but I will do my best anyway. We will look at what factorization is, its seeming hardness for classical computers, the magic of quantum, and a description of Shor’s approach.”
