The Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology (VCQ) invites applications for the

Vienna Quantum Fellowships

These newly established Fellowships in Experimental or Theoretical Quantum Science will be awarded both on the PhD- and the postdoc-level on the basis of an international competition. The appointments are for a three-year duration. Postdoctoral Fellowships carry a competitive annual salary, and offer an annual research expense fund. PhD Fellowships will participate in the Vienna graduate program CoQuS.

As quantum information and computation research continues to develop, we will see increasing interest in adapting the philosophy of quantum computing, information theory and ideology into other, more traditional aspects of computational research. Although the hardware technology to realize quantum computing still yet to be materialized, research about the theoretical aspects of quantum computing and its ideology has enjoyed some success with artificial and computational intelligence.

Quantum computing offers fundamentally new solutions in the field of computer science, extends the possibilities to a level that cannot be imagined in classical communication systems. In the near future, quantum communications and quantum networking will revolutionize traditional communication and networking methods.

The Second International ICST Conference on Quantum Communication and Quantum Networking - QuantumComm2012 - will bring together a wide group of experts to discuss all aspects of quantum communication and future quantum networking.

The “Vienna Doctoral Program on Complex Quantum Systems (CoQuS)" is a graduate program funded by the FWF, and jointly hosted and supported by the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology, Austria.

The CoQuS Program announces new openings for highly qualified doctoral/graduate students in experimental and theoretical quantum physics, with a strong emphasis on
• Fundamental tests of physics
• Quantum information concepts and implementations
• Matter wave interferometry: foundations and applications
• Quantum technology on the nanoscale
• Quantum physics in

The University of Nottingam is pleased to announce 10 Visiting Fellowships for early career university lecturers and post-doctoral researchers currently working at recognised universities in Brazil.

A web site with all of the potential research projects is now up and running at
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/internationaloffice/brazil
Specifically, a call for up to two fellows in Quantum Information Theory is available under "Mathematical Sciences".
