Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the conference 90 Years of the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen Paradox: Foundations and Applications to be held from April 7-10, 2026, at the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef, Germany.
The conference will explore the foundational and technological implications, as well as the historical and philosophical impact, of the EPR paradox. It will examine the subject from both theoretical and experimental perspectives, addressing topics such as quantum correlations, entanglement, Bell nonlocality, and quantum measurement theory. The seminar will also highlight the paradox’s role in emerging quantum technologies, including quantum cryptography and metrology. We aim to bring together leading experts, early-career researchers, and PhD students to discuss the foundational significance, recent developments, and future directions of the EPR argument and its applications.
Confirmed invited speakers include:
- Dagmar Bruß (Universität Düsseldorf)
- Otfried Gühne (Universität Siegen)
- Margaret Reid (Swinburne University of Technology, Australia)
- Reinhard Werner (Universität Hannover)
- Howard Wiseman (Griffith University, Australia)
… and others.
Applications are open until February 1, 2026. Participants are encouraged to present their work in the form of a poster. Accommodation and all meals will be generously provided by the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef and the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation. There is no conference fee; participants only need to cover their transportation costs.
Further information and application details can be found on the conference website.
We are looking forward to see many of you in Bad Honnef!
Best,
Roope Uola, Martin Renner, and Ramona Wolf
