Quantumness: A celebration of Luiz Davidovich's research career on his 70th birthday

Quantumness will be a 3-day-long event with a strong scientific program. Distinguished international speakers will attend this celebration of Luiz Davidovich's research career on his 70th birthday.
Luiz Davidovich is a leading physicist whose work on fundamentals of quantum mechanics and quantum informationhas led to pioneering experiments reaching the limits of the microscopic world. Several distinctions and awards have recognized his work: He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Sciences and the National (USA) Academy of Sciences. He received, among other distinctions, the prestigious Admiral Alvaro Alberto Prize in Science in 2010.
Luiz also plays an important role in Brazil's science policy. He is currently on the board of Directors of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, where he promotes and contributes to studies of national problems in Science, Education and the Environment.
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) is pleased to host Quantumness. All interested students, pos-docs, researchers, friends are welcome to attend, joining us in this event recognizing Luiz's outstanding contributions to science.
