This workshop is an interdisciplinary meeting that will bring together researchers from various domains with interests in physics and computation. Research and important issues relating to the interface between physics and the theories of computation, computability and information, including their application to physical systems, will be presented and discussed.
The conference covers the main topics of quantum thermodynamics. In particular questions regarding the emergence of thermalisation in quantum systems, the interplay of information and thermodynamics in quantum systems and devices (e.g. quantum thermal engines), and the according experimental implementations.
The Quantum Information Group and The Security Innovation Centre at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow (max. 2 years) to develop the Quantum safe lab based around the IdQuantique Clavis system. In particular we wish to investigate multi-party security protocols using the techniques of QKD. Salary and benefits are competitive. Continuing the popular series of Heilbronn quantum algorithm meetings, the meeting showcases recent highlights in the field. We have three days of outstanding speakers invited from around the world to talk about their recent work. As in previous and meetings, we expect the discussions to be lively and informative!

I am announcing 6th Working Group Meeting of COST Action MP1209 "Thermodynamics in the Quantum Regime". We have an excellent complement of speakers lined up and this meeting promises to be an exciting one.
KG Zloshchastiev's group at the Institute of Systems Science, Durban University of Technology, located in the city of Durban, South Africa, opens the visiting positions for 2017. Visits are funded by the National Research Foundation of South Africa through the Durban University of Technology. There is no formal deadline, applications will be considered until the positions will be filled.
The group is now working on several multi-disciplinary topics, with a strong emphasis on these:
Quantum Machine Learning is a newly emerging interdisciplinary research area investigating how quantum information can solve pattern recognition tasks in machine learning. It draws on other related fields such as quantum algorithms, quantum optimisation and quantum probability theory.
