Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a Computational Scientist at The Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC) at the National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is funded by ICHEC, is available from 1th October 2020 to 6th January 2022 located at ICHEC’s Dublin office.

The Center for Quantum Information and Control (CQuIC, https://cquic.unm.edu/) at the University of New Mexico invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellow positions in theoretical quantum information science. Research at CQuIC covers a range of foundational and applied investigations on topics including quantum computation, control, measurement, communication, and simulation.
Recent advances in our ability to generate and manipulate quantum-coherent matterwaves is now ushering in a new era of quantum optics, where the roles of matter and light are almost exactly reversed. We are starting to be able to create almost arbitrary matterwave-images, (de)magnify, and project them. Matterwave mirrors, lenses and cavities are rapidly becoming reality. We have recently even been able to demonstrate a coherent waveguide for matterwaves.
In the nanoLace project, we are going to build a novel type of matterwave lithography experiment, where we will exploit the fact that time-dependent matterwave lenses will enable us to reduce the wavelength of matterwaves by orders of magnitude. We expect to be able to generate arbitrary patterns as small as a few nanometres. Potential applications stretch from the fundamental (quantum-matterwave-optics) to the industrial (micro-chip production with nanometric structures). To this end we are now in the process of setting up a novel matterwave lithography machine based on Bose-Einstein Condensates. The project is fully financed in the framework of the EU Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) network nanoLace.

The Young Italian Quantum Information Science conference (YIQIS2020) will take place as an online event from September 28th to October the 2nd 2020, in the afternoons of Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The conference will be especially addressed to students and young researchers.
The conference will feature short invited and contributed talks, as well as poster sessions and career panels.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Centre for Quantum Computer Science, University of Latvia, lead by prof. Andris Ambainis. The Centre is among the strongest European research groups in quantum algorithms and currently consists of 5 faculty members and 14 postdocs and graduate students.
Research at the Centre is focused on quantum algorithms and quantum complexity theory, as well as related questions in classical computer science.
This is the 7th edition of IICQI (Organized by Barry Sanders and Vahid Karimipour) which started in 2007. It is now organized in online form and its lectures are scattered throughout the years 2020 and 2021.
