Open Postdoc Position in Quantum Machine Learning
I am happy to announce a call for two 20-month Post-Doc positions in my project entitled:
"Photonic, Atomic and Thermodynamic Processes from a Quantum Metrological Perspective" financed by Polish National Science Center under SONATA BIS programme.
Scope of research for the project include:
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mathematical Physics/Quantum Computing in the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (Germany). Applicants should have a PhD in mathematics, theoretical physics or computer science, and have a special interest in/prior experience with quantum error correction, as well as continuous-variable quantum information theory.
The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (https://www.oist.jp/) invites applications for at least 3 new faculty positions in Physics and Materials Science, as part of its planned expansion of the University. All areas of Physics and Materials Science will be considered; areas of current interest include, but are not limited to: biophysics, gravitation, cosmology and astrophysics, quantum information, quantum matter, quantum technologies, soft matter, statistical physics, and ultrafast optical spectroscopy.
The newly funded Trento Joint Laboratory for Quantum Science and Technologies (Quantum at Trento, Q@TN) invites expressions of interest from highly motivated senior scholars for the position of Director.
Interdisciplinary PhD call
Number of positions: n. 12 (three years)
The University of Trento opens the call for 12 positions for the 34th Cycle (Academic Year 2018/2019) of the PhD Programmes involved in the Quantum Laboratory at Trento initiative.
The newly-funded Center for Quantum Technology of Hsinchu, Taiwan is hiring a postdoctoral researcher working in the area of quantum cryptography. The hired candidate will be based in the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) at Tainan, Taiwan and will be working closely with Yeong-Cherng Liang from NCKU, Kai-Min Chung from the Academia Sinica of Taiwan, and the experimental quantum optics team led by Chih-Sung Chuu from the National Tsinghua University of Taiwan.
QuSoft and the Algorithms and Complexity group of CWI has a vacancy for a talented postdoctoral researcher on the subject of computer-science aspects of quantum computing and quantum information theory.
Job description
We are looking for new postdoc who has the sufficient background to work closely with one or more of the senior members in our group, and at the same time can bring their own character to the research. The position is initially for one year, with possible extension. The preferred starting date is 15 October 2018.
Our group has expertise in multiple related theoretical areas including quantum walks, iterated open quantum systems and quantum optics. We also have a strong cooperation with an experimental group on optical realizations of quantum walks.
Sensor systems have emerged that exhibit extraordinary sensitivity for detecting physical, chemical, and biological entities at the micro/nanoscale. Particularly exciting is the detection and analysis of molecules on miniature devices that have many possible applications in health, environment, analysis, and security.
