We invite applications for post-doctoral researchers in the field of quantum optics, cold atoms, and atom spectroscopy. Applicants should have extensive experience in atomic physics and ultra-cold atoms.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is looking to appoint a Post-doctoral Research Associate to work on the EPSRC funded project "Towards fault-tolerant quantum computing with minimal resources" under direction of Dr Earl Campbell.

We offer:
11 fully-funded 4-year PhD positions to undertake cutting-edge technology research in Nottingham as part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Hub in Sensors and Metrology (http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/generic/quantum/index.aspx)

Projects include experimental studies of: ultracold atom systems; solid-state atom chips; optical and quantum electronic device design, fabrication and study; 3D printing of next-generation sensor chips; biomedical imaging; GPS

A PhD position for a UK/EU student is available to work with Marco Piani, at the the Department of Physics of the University of Strathclyde, in Glasgow, UK. The research activity will focus on fundamental quantum features like entanglement and coherence, and their role in quantum information processing and quantum dynamics.
