Oxford University’s Computer Science Department (together with St John's College at Oxford) is hiring a senior Professor in Computer Science. We are looking for somebody with a world-leading research reputation with broad academic leadership.

Our lab explores how the laws of quantum mechanics govern electronic transport in nano-devices made from exotic quantum materials. We are particularly fascinated by topological phases - unique states of matter with exciting and complex physics connected to their topological properties. We have multiple open project, which focuses on the edge state transport in quantum anomalous hall insulators and the dynamics of Josephson Junctions.

All projects offer hands-on experience in cleanroom fabrication, measurement setups, and advanced data analysis for advanced transport experiments.

The School of Computational Sciences accepts applications for Project Research Fellow position for the following research field.

- Area: Developing quantum algorithms for simulating open quantum dynamics

The contract period of this position may be adjusted according to the project conditions. The relevant project will end in June 2027. 

We invite applications for a Research Fellow position in the general area of Theoretical Quantum Information.

You will be part of a team working on projects in quantum measurements and the characterisation of quantum devices. You will join the research group of A/Prof Alexei Gilchrist (6 PhD Students) and collaborate closely with Prof. Kavan Modi (Monash University). The position is jointly funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Engineered Quantum Systems and an ARC Discovery Project on quantum measurement resource theories.

There is an opportunity for a short (approximately 8 month) theory postdoc position at the University of Exeter (Exeter, United Kingdom). The start date should be from November 2024 (with January 2025 being the latest start date) and the end date is August 2025.
