The goal of the program is to conduct research and develop software prototypes to support modern and complex software systems based on quantum computing. The program will focus on the creation of solutions to model, build and test systems based on quantum computing and hybrid systems, i.e., systems that integrate traditional components and quantum components.

The Quantum Theory group led by Prof. Adolfo del Campo at the University of Luxembourg is seeking a highly talented, diligent, and genuinely motivated young scientist willing to pursue a Ph.D. in Quantum Information Theory in a stimulating research-focused environment. An MSc in Physics or an equivalent degree is required to be considered for this position.

The Niels Bohr Institute invites applicants for two PhD fellowships in Theoretical Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. The projects will be part of the Center for Hybrid quantum Networks (Hy-Q), which aims at making quantum networks based on single photon sources and mechanical oscillators.

One post doc position is available in the theoretical quantum optics group at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. The position will be part of the quantum internet alliance, which is a European project aiming at building large-scale quantum networks. The post doc will participate in designing and modelling the prototype quantum internet that is scheduled to be built at the end of the project. Additionally, the post doc will work on making large entangled photonic states using quantum dots in waveguides.

The Theoretical Quantum Optics group at the University of Siegen (Germany) is hiring. Possible research topics include quantum thermodynamics, theory of open quantum systems, quantum metrology, matter-wave physics, quantum foundations, and statistical learning methods. You will work with Stefan Nimmrichter, in a diverse and international research group led by five PIs. Local experimental groups in nano-optics and ion-based quantum computing are available for collaborations. A three-year senior post-doctoral position is available in the group of Alexia Auffèves (CNRS-MajuLab-CQT, Singapore), as part of the project BACQ funded by the French Quantum Strategy. The post-doc will build standards of energetic efficiencies for full-stack quantum processors and study the conditions for energetic advantages of quantum nature in a systematic way. She/he will develop an open numerical platform to estimate these efficiencies, providing new optimizing methods of research and development for industrial end-users and new figures of merit for quantum benchmarking.

We are inviting application for a PhD position in Quantum Matterwave Optics.

The Cretan Matter Waves Group on Crete is one of the leading European Groups in Atomtronics and Matterwave Optics. We have recently built the first fully coherent waveguide for matterwaves, which we published in Nature. In this system, we used a novel gravito-magnetic matte wave lens to demonstrate delta-kick cooling down to a temperature of a few piko-Kelvins.
