Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Theory

Applications are invited for the above post. The person appointed will build on the strengths of the Nottingham Condensed Matter Theory Group. Applications are welcome from all areas of theoretical condensed matter physics and/or related theoretical areas (including statistical and soft matter physics, atomic physics, quantum optics and quantum technologies, two-dimensional and topological systems, and computational physics). The successful applicant will be expected to establish an independent programme of research that complements and enhances that of the Nottingham Condensed Matter Theory Group, and will have the ambition to develop into an international leader in due course. They will also contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates should have a PhD in physics or a related discipline and a track record of relevant postdoctoral research. Prior experience of academic teaching is desirable.
