Master and PhD Scholarships at Xi'an Jiaotong University

Job type:

Application deadline:

Wednesday, March 1, 2023

There are several positions for Master and PhD students in the group of “Quantum many-body physics and quantum information in cold atoms” (QMQICA) led by Prof. Dr. Yongchang Zhang at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Xi’an, China. These positions are funded by Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC Scholarship). Please see more details about the scholarship in the following link: http://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/en/Application_Guide/Pre_admission_Letter_Applica...

If you are interested in quantum many-body physics, dipolar cold-atom physics, and quantum information, and would like to pursue exciting research in these areas, please do not hesitate to contact (zhangyc@xjtu.edu.cn) for more information about these positions. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Zhang, and closely interact with other members of the “Research Center on Cold Atom Physics” in the School of Physics at XJTU.

These positions are offered for 3 years (Master) and 4 years (PhD), starting from 1 Sep. 2023. Please send your CV with a publication list and a brief research statement to Dr. Zhang. The Master candidates should major in the subjects of physics or optics. Successful PhD candidates should have or be close to completing a Master Degree in theoretical quantum many-body physics and should also have experience with numerical simulation of quantum many-body systems (e.g., imaginary time evolution, Monte Carlo simulation, …).

The School of Physics of XJTU offers ideal working conditions in a stimulating environment that includes the MOE Key Laboratory for Nonequilibrium Synthesis and Modulation of Condensed Matter, Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Quantum Information and Quantum Optoelectronic Devices, and Insititue of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. Highly qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. We sincerely welcome you to join us.
