MSc (possibly PhD) Position in Quantum Physics – Université de Moncton
Project: Characterizing Quantum States via Non-Invasive Measurements
The Quantum Phonics Group at the Université de Moncton (largest Francophone university in Canada outside of Quebec), led by Dr. Lambert Giner, is seeking a motivated graduate student (MSc) to join a research project focused on novel techniques for characterizing quantum states without disturbing them.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Physics is an asset(or international equivalent)
- Applicants with degrees in Mathematics or Engineering will also be considered if they have successfully completed key physics courses (Quantum Mechanics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Experimental Physics)
Language Requirements

p>French proficiency is mandatory.
Applicants must specify how they meet or intend to meet the language requirement.
Additional Desired Skills
- Ability to communicate in English
- Experience in free-space or integrated optics (e.g., internships or lab work)
- Programming experience in C#, Python, or MATLAB, demonstrated through coursework or projects
Funding and Support
The selected candidate will receive the standard MSc stipend from Dr. Giner’s research grants, supplemented by a teaching assistantship. Students will also be encouraged and supported in applying for external scholarships and will be eligible for internal funding opportunities.
