PhD position in “Light-matter interaction for quantum information processing”

The Photonic Quantum Information Processing (PQuIP) group at the University of Ottawa is looking for candidates for a PhD student position with focus on Light-matter interaction for quantum applications. The group has a broad range of interest from quantum communication and networks to quantum metrology and computing. We will theoretically explore light-matter interfaces such as atomic ensembles, cavity QED, defects in solids, and Rydberg physics for various applications in quantum communication and metrology. Our group is based at the National Research Council of Canada and is a member of the NRC-uOttawa Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP). This project is in collaboration with a network of researchers across Canada through NSERC’s Alliance program.
