Job type:

Application deadline:

Monday, June 17, 2019

The Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics (KdVI) at the University of Amsterdam invites you to apply for a PhD position in quantum information in the group of Michael Walter. We are part of the QuSoft Research Center, which brings together researchers from many different disciplines working in all areas of quantum information science.

You will have the opportunity to take an active role in shaping the direction of your PhD research. Possible topics could be (but are not limited to): optimization algorithms for geometric, algebraic, and combinatorial problems with a high degree of symmetry; mathematical foundations, static analysis, and tool support for quantum computing and quantum networks. Depending on your background and preferences, your project can be purely theoretical or also have a significant software development component. Please see our homepage for an overview over current research directions in the group. In addition to an exciting research project and a friendly and stimulating work environment, a generous travel budget will allow you to attend relevant international conferences and present your work to the scientific community.

See here for further details and information on how to apply.
