PhD position in Theoretical Quantum Optics/Ultrafast Photonics

Job type:

Application deadline:

Saturday, December 31, 2016

The PhD position will be available in a junior research group at the chair of Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information of Prof. Guido Burkard. The position should start in January 2017 (but later applications can be considered if the position is not filled by then).

Candidates should have a master degree in theoretical physics. Strong command of quantum mechanics and advanced quantum mechanics is prerequisite. Good initial knowledge of quantum optics, quantum electrodynamics, relativity and nonlinear optics as well as a wish to get more insight into these subjects are strongly desirable. The PhD project will be devoted to theoretical aspects of the subcycle approach to quantum optics recently developed at the University of Konstanz.

Applications and informal inquiries may be addressed to Dr. Andrey Moskalenko (Andrey.Moskalenko@uni-konstanz.de). Applications should include a curriculum vitae (CV) with the publication list (if present), brief motivation letter, and contact details of two references.
