This PhD scholarship in Quantum Information & Control is under the supervision of Daniel Burgarth at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. It covers the national/international tuition fees as well as support for travel and research costs, and provides an annual stipend of 27,596 AUD. The group at Macquarie hosts a range of leading researchers working in experimental and theoretical Quantum Information, including Dominic Berry, Gavin Brennen, Daniel Burgarth, Alexei Gilchrist, Danny Terno, Jason Twamley, and Thomas Volz. Furthermore, Macquarie University has recently partnered with the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney, and the University of Technology Sydney to form the Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA), which is committed to making Sydney a global leader in quantum technology. As part of the scholarship, you would have the opportunity to engage with SQA activities, bringing outstanding opportunities for networking, collaboration and advanced coursework.

Possible areas for the project are within the theory of Quantum Information, Quantum Control, Open Quantum Systems, Mathematics of Quantum, and Quantum Computing. This is rather broad but I would like to tune the specific project to your background & interests as well as to my expertise.
