Experiment

Our activities in quantum information concentrate on the implementation of simple quantum algorithms and the development of techniques for reducing decoherence and errors. Our experimental setups include magnetic resonance and high-resolution laser systems.

The chair for Semiconductor Quantum Nanosystems led by Jonathan Finley explores a wide range of topics related to the fundamental physics of nanostructured materials and their quantum-electronic and -photonic properties. Members of the institute study the unique electronic, photonic and quantum properties of materials patterned over nanometer lengthscales and explore how sub-components can be integrated together to realise entirely new materials with emergent properties.

The laboratory of condensed matter physics (LPMC) is a joint research unit (UMR 7336) headed by the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis and the CNRS. It is associated with two CNRS institutes, namely the INstitute of Physics (main association) and the INstitute of Engineering and System Sciences (secondary association). The research programs depend on sections 05 and 08 of the National Committee of Scientific Research, and on sections 28, 30 and 63 of the National Council of the Universities.
