A meeting on Quantum Information Processing and Applications (QIPA-2015) will be held during 07 - 13 December, 2015 at Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Allahabad, India. In this program, in addition to fundamental issues related to quantum information, we wish to include topics related to the interface of quantum information with other sciences like condensed matter, cold gas, and quantum optics. You are requested to complete the registration form, if you are interested to attend the program.

A 2-year Postdoctoral position in Theoretical Quantum Optics of Quantum Many-Body Systems is available at the University of Oxford. The deadline is 19 May 2013.

The project’s target is merging quantum optics and many-body physics of ultracold quantum gases, using theoretical methods of atomic and condensed matter physics. The post-holder will address phenomena, where the quantum natures of both light and ultracold matter play equally important roles.

PhD Positions in Many-Body Theory of Ultra-cold Atoms

Center for Optical Quantum Technologies, University of Hamburg, Germany

We offer three PhD positions, available immediately, at the newly created Center for Optical Quantum Technologies (ZOQ). In a vibrant, communicative environment, we study a wide range of quantum phenomena, from technological aspects of ultra-cold atom systems to fundamental questions of many-body theory. We use both analytical approaches, e.g. field-theoretic descriptions, as well as numerical methods, such as simulations.
