We are looking for a PhD student in quantum information theory and quantum computing. At the Chair of Quantum Computing, we study what quantum devices can and cannot do. We combine ideas from computational complexity theory, quantum information theory, and whatever other tools prove useful.
We are interested in a wide range of topics in quantum information and quantum computing connected to understanding the power and limitations of near-term quantum devices. As a major tool, we are using random quantum circuits to better understand the generic expressitivity of short quantum circuits.
Research focus:
- random unitaries and designs
- quantum learning theory
- quantum computing resources
- benchmarking and characterization
- classical simulation
