Applications are invited for two 1+1-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions in theoretical physics at the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) in Pohang, South Korea. Each appointment will initially be for one year and can be extended for an additional year subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of research funding.

Our recently established collaborative research initiative “Machine Learning for Complex Quantum States” (MLCQS) – a consortium spanning nine different institutions across Germany and Switzerland – is seeking to fill several PhD positions.

The group of Dario Poletti at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and at the Centre for Quantum Technologies has an opening for Research Fellow for 2 years (with possible extension).

The main research direction is many-body quantum systems out of equilibrium. Particular emphasis will be given to numerical simulations, e.g. tensor networks and/or neural quantum states, and potential collaboration with experimental groups. We are interested in quantum chaos, quantum thermodynamics, quantum transport, entanglement transitions etc.

We are offering a PhD position at IFT Madrid, to work at the interface of quantum many-body physics, quantum computation, and high-energy physics.

The successful candidate will join the Quantum Matter and Information group at IFT and will be co-supervised by Pablo Sala de Torres-Solanot and Daniel González-Cuadra.

Due to administrative constraints, applications must be submitted as soon as possible in order to be considered eligible. The expected starting date is next spring.

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a Ph.D. in Physics (or a related field) to join the Quantum Information and Matter Group led by Prof. Peter P. Orth at Saarland University. Our group is part of the recently established Quantum Technology Center (QuTe) at Saarland University—a dynamic, interdisciplinary research hub uniting expertise in computer science, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, and physics. Through our close partnership with the Helmholtz Forschungszentrum Jülich, we offer unique opportunities for joint projects, networking, and access to cutting-edge HPC and quantum computing resources.

Potential research directions include: Quantum algorithms for simulating many-body systems, quantum field theories, and combinatorial optimization. Implementation and end-to-end resource cost estimation of quantum algorithms on current and near-term early fault-tolerant quantum hardware. The development of quantum technologies and machine learning are two of the most dynamic research directions of our time. Within the Helmholtz Young Investigator Group “Machine Learning for Quantum Technology” we aspire to merge the parallel advancements of both fields, where quantum challenges match the natural strengths of machine learning and, reversely, the quantum applications call for the development of new machine learning techniques. Therefore, our research targets the exciting intersection of (non-equilibrium) quantum matter, quantum information, and machine learning with the goal of unveiling previously unexplored many-body physics and devising interactive strategies to manipulate artificial quantum systems. The Young Investigator Group is part of the Peter Grünberg Institute - Quantum Control (PGI-8) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, which specializes in novel optimal control strategies for emerging quantum technologies. Current research directions include tensor network methods, machine learning, in-situ optimal control, and quantum many-body phenomena.

A newly established research group led by Dario Rosa - at the ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR), located at the campus of the Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT-UNESP) in São Paulo - is looking for postdoctoral fellows willing to join the group.

The Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS) offers a PhD position in out-of-equilibrium dynamics at the interface between the fields of active matter and quantum physics.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the group of Dr Zlatko Papic at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. The project will focus on emergent phenomena and out-of-equilibrium properties of many-body quantum systems, both in the context of condensed matter and ultracold atomic systems. The project spans several research areas including topological order, many-body localisation, and non-equilibrium dynamics of many-body systems.
