The Quantum Matter and Information group at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT) UAM-CSIC invites applications for a PhD position funded by the QUITEMAD project. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Daniel González-Cuadra, focusing on developing quantum simulation algorithms tailored to lattice gauge theories.

The Nonequilibrium quantum dynamics group (https://www.pks.mpg.de/nqd ) at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (https://www.pks.mpg.de/) in Dresden (Germany) is looking to hire a PhD student to work at the intersection of quantum many-body physics and reinforcement learning (RL).

We are seeking motivated and talented experimentalists and theorists, at both PhD and postdoctoral level, to join an international consortium funded by the EU’s Quantum Flagship. Positions are available at three European institutions: Trinity College Dublin, the University of Murcia, and Oxford University. Postdoc positions are available from November 2022 (with some flexibility on the start date) and are funded for 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance. All positions come with a generous allowance for travel and computational equipment.

Project

We are currently offering two attractive three-year postdoctoral research positions to highly motivated and well-qualified researchers who intend to enhance their career in quantum information science and many-body physics. The successful candidate will work as part of the research group led by Jens Eisert at the FU Berlin.

The Polyquantique research group led by Nicolás Quesada specializes in quantum photonics and quantum information. The group is looking for highly motivated candidates at all levels (graduate students, postdocs) with expertise or interest in quantum photonics, quantum information, quantum optics, quantum metrology, quantum error correction, topological photonics or machine learning.

About the group

We offer full-time employment for a maximum period of 4.5 years as part of the Sonata BIS 10 project entitled "Simulations of physical systems using near future annealing technology". The position was financed by the National Science Center. The research area of the project is quantum computing, quantum programming (including quantum annealing), artificial intelligence and simulations of physical systems using near-future annealing technology at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish
