With the raise of quantum computers, first quantum algorithms came up with promising results. Quantum Computing is becoming more and more a mature area while an investment scalation is happening in this field. Thus, Quantum supremacy is coming, i.e., the point in which quantum computers can solve problems that classical computer practically cannot.

The foundations of quantum theory are today a particularly vivid research field, not last because of the influential and pioneering role it plays for other fields such as quantum information science. The aim of this spring school is to give students and young researchers access to methods and topics important for future research in quantum foundations. This covers the experimental basis of quantum mechanics, the mathematical foundations of quantum theory, quantum correlations, decoherence, quantum measurements, as well as time and gravity.

Tel Aviv University recently established a multidisciplinary Centre for Quantum Science and Technology, aiming at promoting and advancing fundamental research in the field of quantum sciences, as well as corresponding technologies and applications, particularly, quantum computation, communication, sensing, and materials.

This workshop marks the inauguration of the QuanTAU Center, and will honor Yakir Aharonov and Michael Berry for their contributions to Quantum Mechanics.

After tremendous endeavors, Nanophotonics has already departed from its infancy and stepped into an exciting era, where research ideas and theoretical concepts are being vigorously transferred into functional devices and real-life applications. The fifth edition of the NANOP conference identifies the successful development of Functional Nanophotonics over the last decades as well as outlines upcoming research directions and topics, offering a vibrant platform for scientists to discuss, share, and fantasize.
