Position Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Calgary invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date commencing on or after July 1, 2020.

We are particularly interested in applicants who would strengthen our activities in the area of quantum information.

The University of Calgary is renowned for its strength across a wide spectrum of quantum science research activities, and the Faculty of Science’s Institute for Quantum Science and Technology (http://iqst.ca/) provides a focus for these activities. The successful candidate will have a PhD in mathematics or equivalent, a research interest in mathematical physics and a commitment to high-quality teaching and supervision at the undergraduate and graduate level. A proven record of research excellence commensurate with their stage of career development, and demonstrated potential for attracting and sustaining peer-reviewed external funding, are also required.
