The University of KwaZulu-Natal is one of the top three Universities in South Africa and in the top 500 Universities globally. The School conducts research in space plasma physics, quantum information processing and communication, magnetic properties of materials, and applied physics (solar-thermal energy, photonics and fluid dynamics). The School seeks an experimental physicist at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level who will provide leadership in one of its research areas, or in a closely-related field. S/he will be expected to attract funding, supervise postgraduate research students, teach at all levels from First Year to Honours (Fourth Year), be active in the senior teaching laboratories, and contribute to administration and community engagement.
