Postdoctoral Positions in “Theoretical quantum optics and quantum simulations of many body effects”

The positions are within a CQT research project led by Dimitris Angelakis in the Centre for Quantum Technologies Singapore. We are looking for highly motivated candidates who have a strong research background in theoretical quantum optics. Exceptional candidates from condensed matter theory and/or quantum information theory will also be considered.

The research to be undertaken will be in the interface of quantum optics, condensed matter and QIP with emphasis in the simulation of quantum many body effects with atomic and photonic systems.

A PhD in physics is required and a strong background in theoretical quantum optics is essential. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: cavity QED (including solid state/photonic crystals implementations or Circuit QED), cold atoms, ion traps and photonic waveguides. Experience in collaborating with experimentalists in any the above areas will be a major advantage as the group is in collaboration with related experimental groups both in CQT and overseas. The candidate should posses a strong background in numerical modeling of physical problems in the above areas.

The positions are available as soon as possible (for two years in the first instance) and we accept applications until a suitable candidate is found. Applications should be sent by email to dimitris.angelakis@gmail.com. They should contain a two page summary of their past research, a CV and the contact details (email) of three referees.
