The KZN node of the South African National Institute for Theoretical Physics (NITheP) has one postdoctoral vacancy in the field of Open Quantum Systems and Quantum Information Processing and Communication.
The appointment will be made within the structure of the University of KwaZulu- Natal on a one–year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal for one more additional year. Preferences will be given to candidates working on the application of the Theory of Open Quantum System with applications in Quantum Biology, Quantum Machine Learning, Dissipative Quantum Computing and Open Quantum Walks.
Duties: Maintaning a vigorous research programm, being involved with supervision and tutoring at graduate level.
Requirements: A relevant doctorate of high standing, a developing research record and demonstrated research potential.
Commencement of duties: 01 September 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Closing date: Review of applications will begin on 15th June 2015 and continue until the position is filled.
