PhD Position at the University of Gdansk, Poland (x2)

We offer two four-year PhD positioions in Quantum InformatioTheory. The grant is run by dr hab. Marcin Wieśniak and is titled "Complex Entagled states: production and analysis". The research plan includes:
-studyinng toric codes in higher dimension
-work towards an optical demonstration of measurement-based quantum computation and analysis of effects of various physical errors
-studyning new self-testing Bell inequalities
-recognigizing the role of modified Stokes parameters and their further generalization in identifying nonclassicality of bright vacuum states
-working towards new realizations of bound entangled states
-working towards realization of full rotationally invariant quantum codes for long distance quantum communication,
The project is of a theoretical nature, but will be realized in collaboration with experimental groups.
The winning candidate will receive a mounthly, tax-free scholarship of 3000 PLN, (to be compared with relatively low living costs in Poland).

A valid application should contain
-a scan of MSc in Physics
- scientific CV including all nonstandard activities, such as competition participation, awards, etc.
-One or more recommedation letters
-Report on marks obtained during Bachelor and Master studies
-A statement of the following: "Wyrażam zgodę na przetwarzanie moich danych osobowych zawartych w ofercie pracy dla potrzeb niezbędnych do realizacji procesu rekrutacji (zgodnie z ustawą o Ochronie Danych Osobowych Dz. U. 2002 nr 101 poz. 926 ze zm.)" ("I hereby agree that my personal data will be processed for the sake of recrutation for a Ph.D. position in accordance to the Personal Data Protection Act Dz. U. 2002 nr 101 poz. 926 ze zm.").
-Documents necessary to join the Physics Doctoral Studies or Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies in Mathematical Modeling at the University of Gdańsk.

The documents shall be submitted until 20.09.2019 via e-mail at the address of head of the project, marcin.wiesniak@univie.ac.at.
