Post-doc position in theory of free-space secure quantum communication

Palacky University in Olomouc is announcing the opening of a 2-year position for a post-doctoral researcher in the field of theory of quantum communication with application to satellite links, within a project funded by the European Space Agency. The research will be primarily focused on quantum key distribution with faint laser pulses and single photon detectors and will include international experimental-theoretical collaboration.

The applicants should provide the following documents:
• Structured curriculum vitae;
• List of publications;
• Copy of a Ph.D. diploma;
• Motivation letter specifying the research interests;
• Recommendation letter from the Ph.D. supervisor.

Applicants are expected to possess a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field of study, have previous experience in the development and analysis of quantum communication protocols (focus on atmospheric propagation will be a plus) and be capable to efficiently communicate in English.

Conditions:
• Post-doctoral position is offered for the period of two years starting from October 2018.
• The gross pay for the post-doctoral position is equivalent to ca. 2 000 Euro per month.
