ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences (http://www.icfo.eu), a centre based in Barcelona (Spain), devoted to research and education of the optical and photonic sciences at the highest international level, is offering a postdoctoral position in experimental quantum information theory. We are looking for a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will be part of the "Quantum Information Theory" group, led by Prof. Antonio Acin. The main research activity in the group is in quantum information theory, with an emphasis on entanglement theory, quantum non-locality, quantum communication and quantum cryptography. The group also studies applications of quantum information concepts in other fields, such as foundations of quantum physics, quantum optics, quantum thermodynamics or many-body physics.

REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS
Candidates must hold an internationally recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future) in a physics-related field.
Priority will be given to candidates with knowledge in at least one of the following research lines: quantum correlations and non-locality, device-independent protocols, quantum estimation, application of quantum information tools to many-body systems, and numerical methods for many-body systems.
Several positions are available.
No restrictions of citizenship or gender apply to the ICFO positions.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The formal application should be submitted online via http://jobs.icfo.es/index.php?detail=165. Suitable candidates are requested to submit:
- Presentation letter with a declaration of interest,
- Curriculum Vitae, including full address, a contact phone number and e-mail address,
- The contact e-mail of two potential referees.
Candidates should be willing to be contacted by phone during the selection process.
Candidates may contact icfojobs@icfo.eu for informal inquiries regarding the application, as well as address scientific inquiries to Prof. Antonio Acin at antonio.acin@icfo.eu.

The call will remain open until suitable candidates are identified.
