Research group:

Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire d’Information Quantique at Université libre de Bruxelles. The start date is flexible.

The researcher will work with Stefano Pironio in the general area of quantum information and quantum foundations, with a significant focus on the project “QRANGE: Quantum Random Number Generators: cheaper, faster, and more secure” funded by the EU FET Flagship on Quantum Technologies. QRANGE brings together a multidisciplinary team, including academic, research and industrial partners, working on the development, demonstration and certification of fully functional QRNG devices. The researcher’s role will be to provide a modelling framework and theoretical support for three QRNG architectures that are developed in the project as well as develop new concepts and tools for the future development of certified QRNG in a device- or or semi-device independent framework.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline before the start date of the position and have a proven record of research in the areas of quantum information science or quantum foundations. Due to the conditions of the grant, they should have obtained their doctoral degree no more than 8 years before the start date of the position.
Applications should be sent to Stefano Pironio at stefano.pironio@ulb.ac.be and should include: 1) a motivation letter; 2) a CV including a list of publications; 3) a research statement; 4) reference letters by two referees sent directly by the referees.

For full consideration, applications should be received by 23 November 2018.
