Postdoctoral Fellowship Position in Rydberg Optical Tweezer Arrays
The Biedermann Experimental Atomic Physics Group at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a departmental Postdoctoral Fellowship investigating quantum information science with neutral-atom optical tweezer arrays and Rydberg-mediated entangling interactions.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to pursue several complementary research directions centered on the dynamics, control, and applications of entangled atomic systems. Current research includes entangled matter-wave interferometry and tests at the interface of quantum mechanics and gravity; AI-enabled optimization and control of multilevel quantum systems (qudits); spatio-temporal control of neutral-atom qubit arrays; and studies of the trade-offs between computational complexity and robustness in entangled atomic-spin systems.
These ideas are being investigated experimentally using laser-cooled strontium and cesium optical tweezer platforms with Rydberg-state interactions. The group collaborates extensively with researchers at universities, national laboratories, and industry, with current research supported by NSF, AFOSR, DOE Genesis, and other programs.
