Postdoctoral research fellow (Short-Range Quantum Connections)

Quantum Nonlinear Physics and Technology Team at the Department of Optics, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc announces selection process, is looking for a suitable candidate for a post-doc position

Place of work: Department of Optics
Information about Quantum Nonlinear Physics and Technology Team is at http://muj.optol.cz/filip/
Work load: 1,0 (full-time)
Start of job: February 1, 2020 and later

Job description:

The postdoc will theoretically analyze the possibility to optically connect quantum devices at a short distance using quantum non-Gaussian states and their engineered optimal superpositions including their state preparation, detection and verification by atomic and solid-state experimental platforms. To propose the experiments testing such novel optical quantum connections postdoc will use analysis of quantum optical experiments, atomic and solid-state systems based on their nonlinear interaction with microwaves and light, including numerical modelling, and applications of quantum transducers and quantum error correction. This research will be supported by the international project ShoQC (https://www.quantera.eu/calls-for-proposals/funded-projects-call-2019/10...) for 3 years. Prof. Dr. Radim Filip is a mentor for this position and PI of the project. The postdoc will intensively collaborate with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petr Marek, the theory group at the Department of Optics, Faculty of Science, Palacky University Olomouc led by Prof. Dr. Radim Filip and many experimental and theory partners abroad.
