Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. This position is funded by a government grant supporting PQC research and training and with the aim of generating UK-based capacity for future work in the field. This is a fixed term position ending on 30th September 2018 and is available from 1st January 2015 (or as soon as possible thereafter).
The successful candidate will develop and engage in a programme of research in Post-Quantum Cryptography, as a mathematical discipline, and will teach mathematical cryptography at Masters level for the MSc in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science (“MFoCS”). They will perform mathematical research on the programme and will write this up for publication and will fully participate in the activities of the relevant research groups. There is also a requirement to teach up to four sets of undergraduate or graduate classes per year, determined by the demand for classes in specific areas.
With a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline the successful candidate will have expertise in cryptography, good communication, interpersonal and teaching skills.
