The newly established Center for Quantum Technologies (QuTe) at Saarland University invites applications for a Research Group Leader in Quantum Mathematics.
QuTe brings together research in physics, mathematics, computer science, and quantum engineering and is currently establishing several new research groups as part of its ongoing development.
Research focus
The successful candidate will establish and lead an independent research group at QuTe and develop a research programme in quantum mathematics.
Possible research areas include:
- mathematical foundations of quantum information
- quantum graphs
- quantum symmetries
- other areas of mathematics relevant to quantum technologies
The position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within QuTe and Saarland University as well as with Forschungszentrum Jülich.
Position
The Research Group Leader will have the opportunity to:
- develop an independent research programme
- build and lead an own research group with support from QuTe
- initiate interdisciplinary research collaborations
- acquire national and international third-party funding to further expand the research group
- contribute to the growing quantum technologies ecosystem at Saarland University
Profile
We are looking for candidates with an excellent mathematical research profile and a strong background in rigorous mathematical methods relevant to quantum technologies.
A doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related discipline is required.
