The position is going to be affiliated with our quantum computing group (www.jku.at/iicqc) within the computer science division and we are going to prioritize basic quantum computer science (broadly defined) over applied research. Application deadline is November 30th, 2025.
The tenure track position is called “Quantum Informatics” and will be affiliated with the Department for Quantum Information and Computation at Kepler within the Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Division at Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria. Applicants should have a background in computer science, artificial intelligence, math, electrical engineering or quantum physics. Their future research focus should be in quantum computer science, preferably with a connection to AI, in order to complement the strong quantum physics institutes at other Austrian universities. More weight should be given to basic, rather than applied, research. Additional details will follow once the actual call is announced.
