We are actively seeking exceptional applicants for a postdoctoral position in the Ultrafast Quantum Photonics (UQP) group in Ottawa. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of postdoctoral researchers, students, and staff scientists working in state-of-the-art laboratories at the National Research Council (NRC) and the University of Ottawa.
The UQP team studies fundamentals of light-matter interactions within the quantum and nonlinear optical regimes. Our research encompasses applications in sensing utilizing non-classical light, photonic quantum computing, and quantum communications. Our facilities are equipped with a comprehensive array of advanced laser sources and detectors, including time tagging single photon cameras and photon number resolving detectors.
The ideal candidate should possess a PhD in experimental quantum optics, nonlinear optics, or a related field, accompanied by publications in these areas. We are particularly interested in candidates who can begin in the summer or fall of 2025.
