Photonics Quantum Communication Group - Institut of Physics, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava

Our group conducts experimental and theoretical research in quantum information, with a focus on implementations in quantum optics. Experimentally, the group at the Research Center for Quantum Information (RCQI) runs photonics-based experiments using non-linear crystals (PPLN), among other systems; this lab is coordinated by Djeylan Aktas. A second quantum optics laboratory at RCQI investigates the role of quantum memories in QComms-related applications. The group sits at the frontier between mature photonics platforms for next-generation quantum networks — including the digital cybersecurity layers of deployed QKD infrastructures — and laboratory-based research into the fundamental aspects of quantum information tasks.
