'Quantum Computer' research for Diploma Paper (Graduate Paper)

Hi. I'm 3rd grade student at Armenian National Polytechnic University. I'm planning to do some research on Quantum Computers and Simulate them using C/C++ for my graduate paper.
And I want to know, if Quantum computers and their Simulation is not very hard, and me being 4th grade student can theoretically do it..
If so, please can you show me where to start, maybe some papers or books on this topic ?
And I need mentor, maybe you know right person, whom I can contact for some questions and help..

can a maximally entangled state undergo unitary time evolution to another maximally entangled state?

say for example a maximally entangled state |\psi_{AB}>=1/sqrt(2)(|00>+|11>) (at time t0) has to transform to another maximally entangled state |\phi_{AB}>=1/sqrt(2)(|01>+|10>) (at time t1) via unitary time evolution then at a certain time t0<t<t1 the entanglement content of the state(at time t ) will not be maximal if we consider the S(tr_{A}(\rho_{AB})) as our measure of entanglement. So can we have this process in which our physical resource (entanglement) is not only not conserved but also first decreases then increases in time ?

Two qubit entanglement

Hello,
Does anybody know a two qubit gate which entangle this qubits?
I am looking for a tool which help me get average from two or more qubits. I think I could treat that entanglement as an avarage, because all qubits will have same values when I observe anyone.

I think about universal entaglement gate which do entanglement state for every two qubits, I have started thinking if that gate even exists.

Please can anyone tell me what is the difference between polarization encoded photonic qubit and spatial encoded qubit and how convertion occurs between them?
In J. L. O’Brien's paper (attached) figure 1b,he showed a method.Can anyone help me to understand this?

Topic for project

Hello, I am high school student and I would like to do some QIT project for one science center in my area, but I don't know what to do for the project. I have some undergraduate knowledge in Linear Algebra that I've picked at MIT OCW and reading I am reading one book on QIT. First I was interested in building quantum generator number but they said that they didn't have necessary equipment for such things. So I am looking for some theoretical or some simple non expensive experiment to do. Thanks.
