Applications are now open for Sydney Quantum Academy PhD Scholarships. Multiple scholarships are available to support students undertaking research and training in a field related to quantum science and technology. Work with world-leading experts at Sydney's top universities - University of Sydney, UNSW Sydney, Macquarie University and University of Technology (UTS) Sydney.
We are a young experimental group based in the centre for quantum technologies, Singapore. Our research focuses on developing robust and versatile bosonic cQED systems for quantum information processing. We are seeking motivated students with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for experimental quantum physics to join the team. We have a wide range of projects, ranging from exploring the fundamental aspects of quantum physics to developing building key building blocks for quantum computation using bosonic cQED devices.

This PhD program will explore whether interesting states of matter can be created by active temporal manipulation of the light-matter couplings. Can atoms trapped in an optical lattice be driven into new, interesting states when the lattice is shaking at high frequencies? What advantages will such systems offer for quantum-enhanced sensing of magnetic and gravitational fields, or for quantum computing and information processing?
