The PhD fellow will work on the theory of cavity quantum electrodynamics of resonators embedding high-mobility 2D electron gases (both massive electrons in semiconductors and Dirac fermions in graphene).
The fellowship is funded by the Marie-Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) NOTEDEV and offers a very attractive salary and mobility allowances. <!--break-->
PhD projects to work within the Quantum Technology group at Queen's University Belfast in the broad area of
Quantum Information Processing and Quantum Technology are available for the 2014-2017 entry. A number of
fully funded (fees only) bursaries are available to UK-resident (EU-resident) students. Further funding might be available
later on.

The call for applications for the 2014/15 edition of the Doctoral Programme in the Physics and Mathematics of Information: Foundations of Future Information Technologies (DP-PMI) will close on 18 March 2014.<!--break-->
The DP-PMI aims at providing advanced curricular and research training in the recent developments and fundamental challenges in information sciences and technologies.
The DP-PMI is hosted by Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST), the School of Science and Engineering of the University of Lisbon, in Portugal, and eight associated research centres.
As part of the Frontiers in Quantum Technology (FQT) Programme, applications are invited for a PhD position in our group at Imperial College London, United Kingdom. The position is fully funded, and includes an excellent salary, ranging between £35,653 - £42,857 per annum (note: this range is approximate only and may vary significantly depending on the exchange rate). More details can be found at the Employer web page above.
As part of Nottingham Trent University's commitment to investing in research that shapes lives and society, the university will award 12 fully-funded Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarships for 2014.
Applications are invited for an NTU Vice-Chancellor PhD Scholarship in the area of quantum information processing with applications to quantum technologies. For more, please see:

A number of fully funded 3-year PhD studentships (DEL and EPSRC) are available at the Centre for Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (CTAMOP), Queen's University Belfast to start in October 2014. Full funding (stipend and tuition fees) is available for a number of UK nationals or EU nationals who have lived in the UK for over 3 years prior to their application.
In our group at the University of Siegen (Germany) we are looking for a motivated PhD student in the field of quantum information theory. The research topics include:
* foundations of quantum mechanics, e.g. quantum contextuality
* theory of entanglement and correlations in complex systems
* statistical aspects of data analysis in quantum experiments
Applicants are expected to have a master / diploma in physics, experience in theoretical physics and interest in foundational questions of quantum mechanics.
Institute for Molecular Science (IMS) opens the opportunities for the Ph.D candidate visiting program . The term is from one year (April 2014 to March 2015) to three year. The visiting contract starts April 2014. Shikano group belongs at Research Center of Integrative Molecular Systems (CIMoS) http://cimos.ims.ac.jp/en/ and opens the opportunities for opening the Ph.D students and candidates with the financial support of the research assistants.
