In the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institute of Nanostructure Technologies and Analytics (INA), Nano-Optics group, the following positions are available immediately:

- A funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Nano-Optics group in the field of spectroscopy and quantum optics of single quantum emitters. Experience with the optical characterization of nanostructures or quantum optics is desirable. Also, relevant experience in the field of quantum systems, correlation measurements, nanofabrication is of advantage.

In the framework of the ERC project on Anderson localisation of light with cold atoms (ANDLICA), we are building a new Ytterbium experiment. The goal of this experiment is to study Anderson localization of light by cold atoms. We are seeking an experimental PhD. The PhD will join the team of the current 2 PhD students and will be in charge of the experimental implementation of this project. For this position, we are looking for someone with advanced experimental skills and motivation, ideally with a first experience in cold atom experiments.

Supercomputers help us to find solutions to major scientific challenges and are indispensable for modern research. The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) operates one of the most powerful computer systems for scientific and technical applications in Europe and makes it available for research purposes to scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany, and throughout Europe.

As part of the newly established research partnership between Microsoft Ireland, the SFI Centre for Advanced Materials and Bioengineering (AMBER) and the School of Physics at Trinity College Dublin we are delighted to offer two highly prestigious fully funded PhD scholarships (4 years) in the area of quantum simulation. The selected scholars will work on exciting cutting edge topics of mutual interest between Microsoft quantum research and the quantum research teams based at Trinity College Dublin.

The theory group at the Institute for Quantum Information of the Jülich-Aachen Reasearch Alliance (JARA) is looking for highly motivated candidates to fill a fully-funded PhD position. The doctoral degree will be awarded by RWTH University in Aachen and the research is conducted at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

I am looking for motivated scientists to join my new group at the Institute of Quantum Technologies of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Ulm, Germany.
You will work on theoretical modeling and simulation of solid-state spin qubits for applications on quantum information processing.

A PhD position has opened in the newly established Theory of Controlled Quantum Systems group at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), led by Mark Mitchison. The group’s research lies at the intersection of open quantum systems, non-equilibrium statistical physics, and quantum information. This position is created in connection with a new MSc in Quantum Science and Technology at TCD, which will train the next generation of quantum scientists in Ireland and connect academic research with the quantum technology industry.

Description

Nu Quantum is looking to fund a 3-6 month long internship starting during summer 2021. The internships are full-time, paid, and based in Cambridge where possible.

Ideal candidates are either well into their PhDs, or recently finished. The projects will be carried out at the Nu Quantum headquarters and optics lab in Cambridge, collaboratively with the team which is now 15-strong.
