We are the Quantum Circuits Research & Engineering Workgroup (qcrew) in Singapore. We focus on building quantum devices using superconducting circuits to provide crucial building blocks for quantum computers and versatile testbeds for exploring novel phenomena in quantum physics. We have multiple Ph.D and post-doc openings for motivated young scientist with backgrounds in experimental physics or engineering to join our team. For more details, go to our team website at www.quantumcrew.org or contact Yvonne directly.

QuSoft is looking for a PhD candidate for developing and analyzing new quantum algorithms for inherently quantum problems. This position is part of Maris Ozols VIDI project "Mathematics of Quantum Algorithms", funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). The goal of this project is to develop quantum algorithms for problems where both the input and output are quantum states as opposed to classical bit strings.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative student for a fully-funded PhD position in Dublin, on the quantum thermodynamics of flows of light in the strong-coupling regime. The successful candidate will create theories and simulations of the thermodynamic properties of polariton gases, and use them to develop novel concepts for thermodynamic machines that use light as the working medium.

Hardiman Scholarships ( http://www.nuigalway.ie/hardiman-scholarships/ ) are now open, deadline soon, for PhD at NUI Galway. I would be very interested in supervising PhD research in quantum walks, quantum games, or general quantum algorithms. Please contact in the first instance michael.mcgettrick@nuigalway.ie

I am looking for PhD students for my new group at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore. My group will be part of the vibrant international research community around CQT. Topics of interest include quantum Shannon theory and statistics, resource theories, quantum cryptography and other technical/mathematical aspects of quantum information.

This is an open-ended call and I will consider high-quality applications as they come in.
