The Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) invites applications for one or two postdoctoral positions in the area of theoretical quantum information and many-body physics. The successful candidate will join the Junior Research Group led by Prof Jaeyoon Cho. The group has a broad range of interests in quantum information and many-body theories. APCTP is situated at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korea, and provides a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment for theoretical physicists.

We are looking for a co-investigator in a QuantEra project “Cavity-Enhanced Quantum Optical Clocks” (Q-Clocks). Q-Clocks seeks to establish a new frontier in the quantum measurement of time by joining state-of-the-art optical lattice clocks and the quantized electromagnetic field provided by an optical cavity. The goal of the project is to apply advanced quantum techniques to state-of-the-art optical lattice clocks, demonstrating enhanced sensitivity while preserving long coherence times and the highest accuracy.

Position Description: The Condensed Matter and Complex Systems Group in the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has a postdoctoral position opening in the area of quantum computing and quantum machine learning. This position provides an opportunity to develop novel quantum algorithms (including noise-resilient algorithms) and generally answer the fundamental question: what are quantum computers good for? The postdoctoral project will also explore the emerging field of quantum machine learning.

Theoretical studies of a few-body physics experimentally realized with ultra-cold atoms

In the group of Prof. Uwe R. Fischer at Seoul National University a position is open in the field of dissipative quantum state engineering. Possible topics include applications to noiseless subsystem protection of the fidelity of error correcting codes, quantum metrology and sensing, and concrete implementation setups.
Initial appointment is for one year with a possible extension to two years. Salary is according to the Korean postdoc scale.

Postdoc Opportunity at NIST:
Nanoplasmonics and Quantum Simulation in Single-Atom Devices

NIST (a government research lab located in Maryland, USA) has a program in researching single-atom devices. These devices, when operated at low temperatures, give us the remarkable ability to monitor or control the motion of single electrons. Among the goals of our research are to develop charge and spin qubits for use in quantum computing.
