Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions to work with Dr Gerardo Adesso on an ERC Starting Grant project entitled “Genuine quantumness in cooperative phenomena” funded by the European Research Council. The principal goal of the project is to analyse and challenge the quantum-classical border from a jointly fundamental and applicative viewpoint. The project is expected to deliver novel tools for the characterisation of quantumness in composite systems and to develop novel platforms for its practical utilisation in quantum technology applications.

Nuclear Theory Group invites applications to fill one or two postdoc positions. Applicants for these positions must have a Ph.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, and a strong record of published research in nuclear or condensed matter theory. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of methods of many body quantum mechanics and possessing programming skills in Fortran and C. Knowledge of MPI and CUDA is an advantage.

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Physics, from as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science. The appointee is expected to conduct research on theoretical quantum information science and quantum cryptography in the group of Professor H.F. Chau. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor H.F. Chau (e-mail: hfchau@hku.hk).

We currently have an open position for a PostDoc that is supported by our basic funding. We look for a candidate that strengthens our activities in the field of quantum plasmonics and quantum optics at the nanoscale. Beyond this core expertise, the PostDoc shall support and complement our activities in the fields of linear and nonlinear plasmonics, near-field optics, metamaterials, and light propagation in disordered media. More details can be provided upon request.

The Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) at the University of Surrey is looking to employ a full time Post Doctoral Researcher for a fixed term position of two years to participate in the major EPSRC ADDRFSS programme (Atomically Deterministic Doping and Readout For Semiconductor Solotronics) with a potential for extension (project ending is 31 January 2020).
